The Corrections kind of happened by accident. After the collapse of Birchall's previous band Klinger, he tried to go solo, but was followed by former Klinger rhythm section Darren Vlah (drums) and Glenn Arnup (bass). They formed the core of the backing band on Birchall's 2004 debut, Year of the Monkey, alongside Hovercrafts guitarist Dave McGann. After the recording was over, the guys stuck around, and were joined by Hammond player and all round good guy, Matt Vehl in late 2004. They began recording their debut longplayer, Last Ditch Brigade in 2005, with Matt Maddock (Dan Kelly, Something For Kate) behind the boards. It's taken a little while, but it'll be out in June 2007. (Check the blog for recording updates.) Fostered by Cavalier Records (The Rumours, The Hovercrafts, Crayon Fields etc), if anything they're getting looser and bluesier in their old age. It's an ok trip. Links: Official Website MySpace New Found FrequencyHave your say | Loading |
