The Velvetone machine runs differently: classic gears with fresh grease, snotty-cool attitude and a dirty sound without a step backwards.
"Switchback Ride" is a roller coaster ride, a car chase along the shoreline of the River Of No Return.

Here, the forgotten elementary power of a timeles s sound is conjured – atmosphere counts more than authenticity. Gloomy, soulful and sly, and always with a crafty smile they demonstrate that not only bands like Los Lobos keep this musical style fresh & alive. Willy DeVille, The Stray Cats and others recognized and appreciated Velvetone’ s quality and invited them on their respective tours as special guests. Wanda Jackson, "America' s first female rock'n'roll singer", engaged them as er touring band.

Velvetone is the soundtrack to a Sam Peckinpah flick, a road movie just waiting to be shot.
