Exporting Your Music
New Found Frequency - Your Live Music Network has been a proud supporter of the Australian Export Showcase and 'XOXO' - A Celebration of Women in Australian Music. NFF is dedicated to promoting live music anywhere we can - in our own backyard (Melbourne, Australia) or any corner of the world. With with the support of the National Film and Sound Archive, Salt Studios, Live + Archived, Hawk Media and Amphead Music, NFF has presented Australian music showcases in Canada, USA, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Russia and Turkey with expansion planned into new regions like Northern Africa, Asia and select countries in the Middle East.

Now we're taking it one notch up! New Found Frequency's Australian Export Showcase has gone global. What does this mean? The Export Showcase is no longer exclusive to Australian artists...it's now open to artists and bands from around the world. Even better! New Found Frequency will record it all live to share music with the rest of the world. We're excited to announce that in 2008 - NFF will co-host the official Australian Export Showcase at NewMusicWest, NXNE Music & Film Festival in Canada. With the plan to introduce the New Found Frequency Global Showcase at Popkomm Musik Festival in Berlin, Germany in October 2008. CMJ and Midem are also in the works for the future!

New Music West
Dates: May 14th - 18th 2008
Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Website: http://www.newmusicwest.com

Now celebrating their 17th anniversary, NewMusicWest (NMW) is the largest and most influential new music festival on the west coast. Held in Vancouver, Canada, NewMusicWest 2008 is set from May 14th to 18th and will feature over 200 showcases and several premium shows. Past event performers have included Matthew Good, The Flaming Lips, Liz Phair, Nickelback, Run DMC, Marilyn Manson, Hot Hot Heat, Sam Roberts, My Morning Jacket, Stars and The Lowest of the Low. The 2007 artists were selected from almost 1000 submissions. Now it's your chance to get involved!

This will be the last run for the Australian Export Showcase as NFF prepares to go global with New Found Frequency's Global Showcase - open to artists and bands world wide! It requires a substantial amount of funding and planning for Australian artists to make the commitment to venture overseas. This limits the array of talented artists and bands we invite to the stage. We wanna open up our events to talented bands and artists worldwide. The sky is the limit! So we'll be popping up all over the globe this year.

In the meantime...wanna showcase at NMW?
To be considered for the Australian Export Showcase at NMW your band must be Australian citizens/permanent residents. For consideration for this showcase, your band must be export ready. Application submissions are now open and deadlines close on February 29th 2008.

Be sure to keep an ear to the ground for upcoming conference information sessions sponsored by Austrade. At these you can learn more on how to execute a festival ground plan, prepare finances, develop your marketing and promotions and ultimately rock out and get noticed at NMW 2008!

Application: Now closed.
